Eén van de kanshebbers op de titel Hét Product Made in Limburg is Mister Domes, een doorzichtige koepel met een diameter tot 8 meter, die in de tuin kan geplaatst worden als extra leefruimte, hobbykamer, atelier of B&B-vertrek. Joan Eerdekens en Ruben Clijsters, het ondernemende duo achter Mister Domes, hebben de ambitie om met hun product de internationale markten te verkennen.

“Mister Domes is een 360° open view dome, die als extra leef-, woon- of werkruimte kan dienen en door ons is ontwikkeld met oog voor duurzaamheid en een connectie met de omgeving en de seizoenen”, zo begint Joan Eerdekens het verhaal. “Het product is een gevolg van een persoonlijke zoektocht naar een extra buitenruimte voor mijn gezin, waarbij ik iets anders dan anders wou hebben. Toen het ontwerp klaar was, en er bij bestaande fabrikanten weinig bereidwilligheid was om ons product te maken, hebben we het concept verfijnd en zijn we hier in Limburg gaan zoeken naar bedrijven die ons konden helpen met de productie.”
Joan is erg trots op het resultaat. “Het idee om zelf een product op de markt te brengen, met geen enkele kennis van zaken: een heel avontuur. De ontdekkingstocht, de ontmoetingen, de samenwerkingen en dan het eindresultaat… dat is voor mij mijn grootste verwezenlijking in mijn professioneel leven. Daar bovenop voldoen onze domes aan de toekomstige uitdagingen, zijn ze multifunctioneel, duurzaam en 100% recyclebaar. Voor ons redenen te meer om trots te zijn!”
Het duo denkt aan diverse toepassingen voor de dome. “Klanten kunnen zowel particuliere kopers zijn, die op zoek zijn naar extra leef- en woonruimte, als professionals die kiezen voor een inspirerende vergader- of werkruimte of hun dome als B&B-vertrek willen uitbaten. Slapen onder de sterrenhemel, wie droomt daar nu niet van?”
Mister Domes is ambitieus. “We gaan resoluut door met de verdere ontwikkeling, in andere vormen, maten, enzovoort. De duurzaamheid verbeteren we stap voor stap. We willen ons product aanbieden als totaalproject, inclusief de installatie en inrichting. Er kunnen dus diverse producten bijgeleverd worden zodat je een ruimte volledig op maat krijgt opgeleverd. Momenteel zetten we met Mister Domes een dealernetwerk op, en gaan we ook de internationale markten verkennen. Inderdaad, een écht product ‘Made in Limburg’, waarvan we overtuigd zijn dat het overal hoge toppen zal scheren!”
